No, they're collectibles!

If I only had a nickel for every time I've heard that...

I once lived inside of the 'collecting realm' in regards to sci-fi/fantasy action figures, statues, busts, maquettes, limited editions, and the endless amount of 'must haves' that will probably always exist in the genre. Although I do still buy a few minor things these days (trading cards showcasing the artwork of my favorite artists), I can't help but to reminisce about the good old days of scouring store after store for that elusive item which haunted me throughout the hours, the days, and the weeks. Occasionally, an unknown item might even present itself on those store shelves; a potential drain on the wallet as you can imagine.

"No, they're collectibles!" That's the phrase I would utter when a 'non-believer' would mock me for buying toys or trinkets they deemed as useless or nothing more than a 'waste of money'.

"Waste of money? Don't you know what this will be worth in twenty years?"

Well, needless to say, I've never found an early retirement fund come from selling any of my beloved items. What pleasure they supplied is now gone, but I occasionally recall their immortal stares with nothing less than a pleasurable smile across my face.

So in this series of images I'm currently working on, I will pour my likes and interests into each collectible. And collecting is not just about the obsession of collecting, either. The design elements and general artistry that goes into each piece is what I hope to capture interests with.

For now, though, enjoy "Woodland Warrior." He's the first one on a large list of ideas! And look at how low the number is beneath his name. He's only number 3 in a limited run of 150 pieces!

Can you imagine what that will be worth in twenty years!

Peace, and have a dumpling :)
